Giles Arts Council winners of the 4th Annual
Art on the Lawn juried art festival

Giles Arts Council announces the winners of the 4th Annual Art on the Lawn juried art festival which was held on Saturday, October 3, on the lawn of the Giles County Courthouse.

Best of Show     Robert Tuckwiller for “Morning Dew”

1st Prize Painting               Lois Stephens, GAC Member, for her painting “Pandapas Pond, Winter”

1st Prize Other Media     Parker Stafford, GAC Member, for his blown glass piece “Rare Earth”

Honorable Mention Photography             Cedric Rudisill for “Oak Leaf and Algae”

Honorable Mention Painting                       Allie Kelley for “Giraffe”

Honorable Mention Other Media             A.V. Browning, GAC Member, for “Taurus”

Musical entertainment was provided by:
Steven Jackson, a celtist harpist,
Cindy Cook and Greg Galbreath of the Wild Turkeys, fiddle and banjo, and Verena and Kevin Riley, cello and guitar duo, of Four on Six Music.

Planning for the 5th Annual Art on the Lawn is underway with the date planned for early October. Call for entries will be available in February when the 2010 date is announced.

The 5rd Annual Art on the Lawn Art Show will return to the front lawn of the Giles County Courthouse on Saturday, October 2, 2010. Artists within a 75 mile radius of the Courthouse are invited to apply. Acceptance into the show is on a first come, first serve basis, and work is juried to assure a good mix of mediums on display for our attending citizens.

All work must be original, handcrafted work. Prior year artists have displayed photography, pastel, oil, watercolor, clay, pen and ink and wood turning. 

The show will open at 10:00 am and conclude at 4pm
