Monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 pm. Watch for the location for each meeting as we move throughout the county. The meeting is open to all members and prospective members. Come to a meeting and join the council.

Friday Nights at the Courthouse Cafe

Friday nights at the Courthouse Cafe continues in April sponsored by the Giles Arts Council. There will be music on the 1^st & 4^rd Fridays and the 2nd Friday night is Open Mic Poetry and Story Telling. Please come by the Courthouse Cafe, 414 Wenonah Avenue, Pearisburg, and enjoy the music, story telling, and poetry. Call 540-921-3030 for more details. April 4^th - 6:00- 9:00PM Courthouse Cafe -Terry McLaughlin is back by popular demand - Piano & Vocals - Playing the music of his generation. Don't miss Terry this Friday night. Free

April 5^th & 6^th 1 -5 PM - Needle Arts Show – Sponsored by Giles County Historical Society and the Giles Arts Council at The Andrew Johnson House in Pearisburg. Please register if you wish to display your needle work. Registration form here. The event is open to the public.

April 11^th - 6:00- 9:00PM Courthouse Cafe - Open Mic - Poetry and Story Telling. Free

April 14^th -  6:30 PM Giles Arts Council Monthly Meeting.  The Location for this months meeting will be at the Inn at Riverbend, who is one of our corporate sponsors.   Meeting is open to all. Come out, join the Giles Arts Council and get involved in lots of great activities going on right here in Giles County.

April 18^th - 7:30 PM - THE OLD PROS Big Band; Southwest Virginia’s BIG BAND  For the Past 35 Years will perform a benefit concert for the Giles Arts Council at the Pearisburg Community Center. Tickets: $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Courthouse Cafe, Giles County Chamber of Commerce in Pearisburg, and Tangent Outfitters in Pembroke. April 25^th - 6:30-?:00PM Courthouse Cafe -Olmeck & the Temple Guard - The Christian Rockers are back by popular demand, to kick off our Friday night Outdoor Music Season - Don't miss this great group made up of Va Tech students and Giles County Young Life Leaders. Another  free event.

May 2008

May 4th - 7:00 PM - "ELVIS" Tribute Artist Lou Vuto will be appearing at the Newport Rec. Center in Newport Va. Sponsored by the Giles Arts Council and the Newport Community Action Comm. Seating is very limited. Tickets are $20 per person and are available at the Courthouse Cafe, Newport Recreation Center or call 540-921-4512.

May 12^th - 6:30 PM Giles Arts Council Monthly Meeting. Location TBA.  Meeting is open to all.

June 8^th 3 -5 PM -Summer Gathering – featuring Ann Goette  "Writing and Publishing:  Apples and Oranges" GAC Members Free  Non-Members $5.00
